After School Care
Register your child for after school care that will make a difference in their life.
We are located conveniently on the North Shore of Massachusetts at the Memorial Building on Cabot Street in Beverly.
Here, children participate in chorus and keyboard classes, art and photography classes, dance and drama,
group instrument ensemble classes, media and marketing culminating with the resulting performance
from their efforts. Children should bring artwork or be prepared to audition or write an essay as part of the application process.

Course Descriptions
We are currently completing the development stage of our curriculum. We will add course descriptions as they are finished. Courses are planned according to enrollment. The numbers following the titles state course group size.
Voice/Chorus (30 students)
The class typically starts with relaxation techniques and proceeds to posture and breathing exercises. This is followed with percussive rhythmic repetitions. We continue on to vocalized warm ups. The warm up then proceeds to songs consisting of a different jazz standard per week then a duet in a foreign language. We finish up rehearsing and practicing songs of current and upcoming productions. The goal is for all students to participate in all productions however we are sensitive to the individuals needs. Should they not be ready, they will be encouraged to participate once they feel confident enough.

Drama (30-60 students)
Students will explore the acting in an approach that involves exercises, scene work and theatre games designed to develop performance skills and technique. Students will also learn about the audition process through the preparation of audition monologues and song choices. NoBAC will provide resources on choosing strong material and developing audition techniques. During this time, Students will also audition for, learn and rehearse for NoBAC's quarterly production. Students with a leading role may require additional commitments.
Keyboard (15 students)
Students will work and play together developing fingering skills through exercises on a keyboard.
They will:
- practice scales and arpeggios in varied rhythmic structures.
- learn the relationship between the keyboard and the written music.
- learn to read music.
- play songs in groups and solo numbers with headphones.
- be exposed to different styles of music.
- be familiarized with electronic options of a keyboard and how to put them into practice.
At the end of each trimester, the students will participate in a micro recital where they will play a piece agreed upon between teacher and student. They will be evaluated to insure students continue to progress according to their own level.
Painting & Drawing (15 students)
Painting includes learning with acrylics, such techniques as transparent and opaque painting and also the importance of color. Students will learn to really see color and learn to look at the world in a different way.
Sculpture (15 students)
Students will learn the basic skills to create three-dimensional art. They will have creative control of content and material (where appropriate). They will be responsible for building props, if needed, during productions.
Puppetry (15 students)
Students will explore the drama arts in the form of puppetry. They will participate in all parts of a puppet show, from concept to performance. Many different kinds of puppets will be hand crafted according to the concept and design of the show.
Photography (15 students)
Students will learn how to look at the world through the eye of a lens. They will know how to compose a good photograph and especially how to take a portrait. Students will be responsible for cast photos for each production. They will also learn how to digitally enhance photos.
Set Construction (15 students)
Students will design and construct a model for upcoming NoBAC shows. The group will discuss each model, how it could be built to scale and what would work the best or the easiest and most effective for the show. The students, and the instructors in conjunction with the director, will decide which model or combination of models will be constructed for the show. Students will use a variety of materials and props to complete the project. This may include light carpentry and painting. Parental permission signature required to use tools. There are 3 to 4 shows planned for the course of the year.
Dance (20 Students)
NoBAC will offer a different dance class each day. This may include Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop and Stage Movement. Students will learn the fundamentals of dance as well as how to move on stage during performances. Students in the class may be required to participate in a recital based on the discretion of the teacher.
